How excited was I to wake up a few weeks ago to find a J.Crew dress I had been eyeing forever on sale?
Very excited. I plan to wear it inappropriate amounts. Not accepting the fact that summer is over and bare legs are soon to be a thing of the past.

A little themed OOTD in honor of Andy Murray’s grand slam U.S. Open win yesterday! In all fairness, I did used to play tennis myself. Many summers in fact, though I never did get over my fear of King of the Court, and my hand-eye coordination has always been supremely mediocre. It was all Love for this girl.

I’ve been denying Labor Day’s unavoidable and eminent arrival for a while now. (This is why I don’t do seasonal bucket lists– I never get to quite everything I want to!) But Labor Day Weekend is here and I’m heading home to the beach for the first half of it, so might as well embrace it.
Even though my family has only recently joined me in New England, we would spend every August of my childhood in the very same town they live in now, and one of my most vivid memories is how chilly those summer nights on the water could get there! So as we share Dark & Stormys on the Adirondaks as the sun goes down + the sunset canon goes off, and say goodbye to summer this weekend, this would be my ideal outfit.

I share my love for Boston on here quite often. What I don’t share enough is my love for that little town over the river known as Cambridge. I’ve been spending lazy weekend afternoons there lately, and these photos come from a stroll around Harvard’s campus– an area I don’t get to nearly as much as I’d like to ever since I moved to this side of the Charles.

All summer, I’ve been having this fantasy of waking up on a weekend morning with no plans and taking a spontaneous road trip down to The Cape. Hopping on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. The thought of summer ending actually sickens me, though I have to admit, there really is nothing like a late summer sunset. When the sky is so warm that you don’t even need an Instagram filter? Now there’s something to be said for that in this day and age :)
