Mario Testino

From Kate Moss to Kate Middleton, this fashion photographer has captured quite the array of celebrities. His two exhibits, Mario Testino: British Royal Portraits and Mario Testino: In Your Face, are currently gracing the gallery walls of Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and frankly, I can’t figure out what took me so long to get there. You all know I love a good royal family portrait, and the provocative In Your Face was nothing short of amazing. Emma Watson, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Gisele? Come on now, it was almost too good to be true.

Kayla attended last month’s premiere and rubbed elbows with quite a few faces you may recognize, including Anna Wintour, Giselle, and a certain Mr. Testino himself. Check out the interview for a glimpse of this glamour before you make your way to the exhibit…

The British Royal Portraits will be on display until June 16, 2013, but the fashion photography will be there only until February 3rd. If you’re close enough, run– don’t walk– to the MFA. And as if you need extra motivation, it’s free Wednesday nights after 4 pm :)

A Royal Halloween

I’m tempted to not even share this with you all, as it may or may not be my actual Halloween costume, but I’m too excited to not– in honor of today’s costume-prep Friday’s Fancies. Still in need of an easy idea? Meet the Duchess of Cambridge…

Pleated Shoulder Dress, Love 21, $28
Simulated Crystal Ring, LC Lauren Conrad, $12
York Pump, MICHAEL Michael Kors, $130

Play it up a touch more with a tiara or fancy hat. And if you’re looking for the real thing, the Issa Wrap Dress can be found here! As for the real ring? That one I can’t help you with. But I hear Harry’s single again…

Crazy for Pippa!

Have any of you seen the new TLC special on Pippa Middleton? Now I do like Pip, but I really don’t see her as outshining Kate. However I was really annoyed to hear that she receives so much criticism for dressing “too old for her age.” I think she has very classic and chic style and even though she’s no Kate, I still adore her looks!

Here are some pieces from British TopShop I could see this sassy sister wearing…

Nautical Jacket, £32.00

Crepe Unstructured Jacket, £55.00

Linen Tapered Trouser, £18.00 (sale!)

Floral Tie Back Dress, £39.00

Hollywood Tuck Shift, £70.00

Joelle Camel Peep Toe Court Shoes, £46.00

Green Patent Leather Pumps, £105.00

Still, as much as I like her, I do wish I were the one in line to be the Duchess’s lady in waiting.

Speaking of younger sisters, have you all visited mine’s blog?

Kate Middleton Style

I am not the least bit ashamed to admit that I am totally enthralled in the Royal Wedding.  I’ve had a crush on Prince William since about 1997, but I am completely supportive of his relationship with Kate as long as I can follow along with their wedding plans.

I find Kate’s style to be so elegant and flawless– she’ll fit quite perfectly in the royal family, that’s for sure.

In honor of the wedding being just TWO weeks away, here’s my one of my Kate-inspired outfits, thanks to my new favorite online store, ModCloth.  They have such a flair for British style, and it’s so much easier to order from San Francisco than London!  I also included a few outside vendors for the jewelry, and if you can get your hands on that sapphire, then I say there is no reason why you can’t go mixing silver and gold!
