Peter Pan

red sweater peter pan collar

Sweater, H&M [similar] // Peter Pan Statement Collar c/o Sincerely Sweet Boutique // Denim cutoffs, Forever 21 // Bow earrings, BCBG [similar 1; 2] // Swiss Dot Tights, Kate Spade // Clutch, Garance Dore for Kate Spade [shape; print] // Patent flats, Urban Outfitters [similar 1; 2]

I have just loved the peter pan collar trend that’s been gaining traction over the last year, but have always been too shy to try it– until I received this dainty little one from Sincerely Sweet Boutique. It was just the right amount of statement and fit easily with this oversized knit, and had a vintage feel without being too in-your-face, or little girl-ish. I also love their Timeless Addendum and Austen Society Lace Trim Vintage Collars– such sweet little touches to add to outfits!

Labor Day Duds

I’ve been denying Labor Day’s unavoidable and eminent arrival for a while now. (This is why I don’t do seasonal bucket lists– I never get to quite everything I want to!) But Labor Day Weekend is here and I’m heading home to the beach for the first half of it, so might as well embrace it.

Even though my family has only recently joined me in New England, we would spend every August of my childhood in the very same town they live in now, and one of my most vivid memories is how chilly those summer nights on the water could get there! So as we share Dark & Stormys on the Adirondaks as the sun goes down + the sunset canon goes off, and say goodbye to summer this weekend, this would be my ideal outfit.

Beachy Keen

One of my favorite things about Boston is that you are never more than an hour away from a beach. We put up with some pretty gross + unbearable winters here, but it’s worth it when summer hits and you can hop on [literally] a subway to sand. This is my favorite sort of New England beach look: a nautical two-piece, lightweight maxi dress, and a wide-brimmed sun hat. And of course sunscreen– I signed the sun savvy pledge long ago and hope you will too!

Happy Valentine’s Day lovers! I’m loving all of these pink + red shoes in honor of today. I’m a big fan of Valentine’s Day if for nothing else than all of the people who do get into it and dress the part :)

inspi(red)

In honor of World AIDS Day yesterday, {av}‘s Friday’s Fancies is themed Fashionably Inspi(red). Join(RED) is a program that works all year round to eliminate this terrible epidemic, fighting to deliver an AIDS Free Generation.

The work that my classmates used to do to support this cause always made me so incredibly proud. Emerson Fights AIDS Week is put on every year by my alma mater’s Musical Theater Society and an EFA Committee, but it was, and is still, something that virtually every organization on campus participates in and donates to.

Here’s my fashionably inspi(red) outfit, what I’d wear to spread awareness!
