Pink puffer vest strikes again! Bright pinks like this and cheery blue gingham like this are the only things getting me through this horrid winter (ie. the only days it’s not snowing it’s raining with 40 mph wind instead). I’m looking forward to spring more than I can express in words, so right now I’ll let the vibrant colors and picnic-ready patterns do the talking…!

I’m super excited to be participating in a contest with French Connection and Gilt City this week! Participants were asked to come up with a Pinterest board showcasing a look made up of their favorite items from FCUK’s new line, while sticking to a $1000 budget. All I really wanted for Christmas was a puffer vest– to wear by itself in the chilly parts of fall and spring, and to layer underneath fleeces in the bitter winter. I let Santa pick the color though, and couldn’t be more excited about the salmon pink! Just the pop of fun I need to keep me smiling through the freezing months ahead…

New Year’s Finest

Whether or not I have elaborate plans for New Year’s Eve, I always take great pleasure in picking out the perfect sparkly outfit to wear. Most years, I turn to H&M or Forever21, because as much as I adore sequins, I’ve never had the budget to spend too much on a dress I can only wear on a handful of glitter-required occasions. This little number from Lulu’s is a nice compromise– fit for a princess with a much prettier price tag! The classic Kate Spade Charm shoes on the other hand…. well we can all dream right?

One of the absolute best things about being an Emerson College alum is meeting all of the talented and inspiring individuals the network connects you to, both current students and alumni. Last week, I met up with current student Celina Colby, fashion blogger behind Trends & Tolstoy. I considered myself to be pretty involved while in school, but as a sophomore, Celina is already blowing me out of the water. I discovered that in addition to Emerson, we share a love of Nutella lattes, exploring our little city of Boston, and, as you’ll see, pink blazers.
