There’s a little saying around this part of the country:: if you don’t like the weather in New England, wait a minute.

And nothing has ever been more accurate. One day we’re pushing 80, the next I’m back to layers and pants. Articles of Society sent me these bee-yoo-tiful coral skinnies recently, and they have been the perfect addition to my spring closet– for days when the temps don’t exactly feel like warm spring.

How fun is all that pink? I’m also so tempted by the same pair in mint and this light-wash sky blue.

Carrie B

carried bradshaw inspired outfit

Jean jacket, Old Navy [similar] // Lace top, Kimchi Blue via Urban Outfitters [similar 1; 2] // Skirt, Jack Wills [similar] // Necklace, J.Crew // Crossbody purse, Kate Spade [similar] // Glitter heels, Kate Spade [similar]

I wore this [what I like to refer to as] daytime party look out for a birthday lunch last week. The mix of denim, tulle polka dot skirt, and glitter stilettos definitely reminded me of a late 80s Carrie Bradshaw. I intended for it to be a fun, birthday girl-esque outfit I might not normally wear during the day, but let’s be honest– Carrie would probably rock this on a Tuesday at breakfast.

By the Fire

There is something so perfectly autumnal about cozying up around a big bonfire with hot chocolate and s’mores. My friends used to treck out to the quiet suburban areas of Cambridge from downtown Boston numerous times a year for these, but there is no better time to host them than fall.

Tee Time

I wish I were one of those girls that could effortless style a baggy t-shirt into a super chic look… girls like MK+A, Sydney, and Lauren Conrad. I am very much guilty of over-purchasing tees, and then I end up wearing them only to dance rehearsals or with skinny jeans on lazy days. Maybe I’m still taking the skinny denim route, but there ain’t no way I’m putting on such heels on a lazy day, so believe it or not this Friday’s Fancies was a challenge for me…!

Best Foot Forward

You always dress in yellow, when you wanna dress in gold.

Who sings that GO!

Yeah. Hilary Duff.

But it’s the inspiration for my Friday’s Fancies today! One of my new year’s resolutions is to stop being afraid. So when {av} announced that today’s theme is “Best Foot Forward,” I thought, might as well take a leap and embrace something I’d probably have been too shy to wear before now…

Weekend Carryalls

First weekend trip of the summer starts tonight after work– heading to Rhode Island for a graduation party and beaching with college friends!  I actually find it more difficult to pack for two days than I do for a week-long trip… so much I want to wear and not enough time!  I limit my packing by forcing myself to fit everything within a small duffel or tote.  It’s never easy, but I’m so much happier in the end with a small shoulder bag than a clunky rolly suitcase or oversized duffel.

These are some great sizes to go with for weekending, and what fun looks too!

Small Duffel in Blue Lagoon, Vera Bradley, $69 (select colors on sale!)

The Gardiner's Island Seersucker Acrylic Duffel Bag, Wm. J. Mills & Co., $130

Denim Beach Tote, Lucky Brand, $79

Jute Based Tote, CALYPSO St. Barth for Target, $14 (sale!)

Key-Per Duffle Satchel, Fossil, $98

Medium Weekender, LeSportsac, $98

Safe travels!!

Summer of Aquarius

Inspiration for these hippie-chic pieces? My celeb friend Kayla looking oh so flower-childish on the cover of the Boston Phoenix‘s Summer Guide!!

Despite the fact that they were born in the 60s, flowy styles adorned with feathers and flowers never really go out of style in my book– especially not in the hot summer.

Here’s my take on Kayla’s covergirl flair, including AE mocs, Free People crochet top and hair clip, and Lucky Brand stash bag.  Click the set for additional product details.
