It’s Black and White

On a daily basis, I try to dress by a certain “live colorfully” motto. Yet even I can’t deny that a black and white ensemble is always classic and chic. A black blazer is a closet staple, and I first got the idea to pair them with white dresses + rainboots from this shot of Reese Witherspoon. The bow headband and tassel purse are my own fun additions :)

New England was blessed with a very mild winter last year, with really our only snowstorm being on Halloween(!). This year though, I’m ready for the snow– bring on the crunch under my boots and the layers of sweaters to stay warm!

One of the absolute best things about being an Emerson College alum is meeting all of the talented and inspiring individuals the network connects you to, both current students and alumni. Last week, I met up with current student Celina Colby, fashion blogger behind Trends & Tolstoy. I considered myself to be pretty involved while in school, but as a sophomore, Celina is already blowing me out of the water. I discovered that in addition to Emerson, we share a love of Nutella lattes, exploring our little city of Boston, and, as you’ll see, pink blazers. A sip of pumpkin spice latte, in accordance with stumbling across this perfectly autumn outfit, finally made me feel like embracing fall. I adore this look by Katie from Running on Happiness… she’s the kind of blogger with such a great eye that it makes me wonder why I even bother! Total outfit crush on her.

Pink and green flats with flamingo appliques on them? I just could not resist. I love the easy-goes-it early summer feel to this outfit… when you can get away with wearing shorts but still need another layer somewhere else! I could happily wear a version of this every night this summer… maybe with this version of the flats next time?
