April Showers…

breakfast at tiffany's rain scene

One positive thing about April showers?

The possibility of being kissed in the rain.

Just, make sure you’re prepared for it. As Holly was.

LBD

audrey hepburn breakfast at tiffany's

Audrey Hepburn has taught me a lot of things over the years, but one thing that always stands out is the fact that you can never go wrong with a little black dress. eShakti is an online retailer that offers clothes customized to your body, and when they offered to send me a dress of my choice, I couldn’t resist snagging a classic LBD that I knew would be versatile and I could customize to perfectly suit my body. Give them your measurements, adjust the neck, sleeves, and hemline to fit your shape and your taste. How can you go wrong with that?? Bonus: As a limited time offer, eShakti is offering a $25 gift certificate and free customization to new customers on their first order!

One to Watch

Things I love:

1. Audrey Hepburn
2. GUESS Watches

I’ve entered to be a global access blogger for GUESS watches as a part of their One to Watch campaign, and when showing off my personal style, who could I possibly turn to besides Audrey Hepburn? I love this quote from Audrey, and channeled her style in putting together my entry…

Now, things I’d love for you to do:

1. Vote for me! If you think I have what it takes to become an official GUESS Access Blogger, then vote for me (up to once a day!) through Facebook. Click “View Entries” and search for “Emily.”
2. Enter yourself!
3. Tell me who inspires your personal style– I’d love to hear!

Thank you all so much for your support! xx

Breakfast at Book Club

I kind of belong to the most adorable book club ever. This month, we’re reading Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M., and in honor of it, Alex invited us all over for a Sunday brunch screening of my all-time favorite classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Complete with pastries, sunnies, top knots, and of course LBDs. It’s okay to be jealous right now.

Linking up with a {little} dash of ash as always!

Best Foot Forward

You always dress in yellow, when you wanna dress in gold.

Who sings that GO!

Yeah. Hilary Duff.

But it’s the inspiration for my Friday’s Fancies today! One of my new year’s resolutions is to stop being afraid. So when {av} announced that today’s theme is “Best Foot Forward,” I thought, might as well take a leap and embrace something I’d probably have been too shy to wear before now…

Sparklyglittergoldloafers:

Darby Glitter Loafers, J Crew, $215
Audrey Hepburn Tee, Ruche, $40

Leather Bow Clip, American Apparel, $16

As for the rest of the outfit? I just like it.

Happy weekend everyone!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is the 50th anniversary of my favorite classic movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I don’t remember how old I was when I first watched Holly Golightly stroll down 5th Avenue with her pastry (the taste of which Audrey actually hated!), but I do know she has been my style icon ever since.

Hope everyone is rocking their LBDs in this film’s honor today!!

Breakfast (in bed) at Tiffany’s

I’m not sure which came first.  My love of Tiffany’s…

Or my love of Breakfast at Tiffany’s…

Either way, I was thrilled to hear (by way of The Preppy Princess) that now, with a little bit of dough (i.e. $8,500 a night), you too can enjoy breakfast at Tiffany’s… and I don’t mean a sticky bun in the early hours while staring into the store.  I mean at the St. Regis‘s new Tiffany & Co. themed suite.

The dining room painted Tiffany blue and accented with jewelry-inspired details, the living room with views overlooking Fifth Ave and Central Park, the bedroom with a porcelain flower installation– this suite is the definition of luxury.

Now that the word is out, when do you think reservations will become available?  I’m thinking I should get my name on a waiting list now for my wedding night ten years down the road… maybe by then I’ll be able to afford it!
