Holiday Best

I’ve been too into the red + green this holiday season [evidence here and here], so I thought I’d mix it up for today’s Holiday Best Friday’s Fancies. I just love this raspberry, navy, and white number from Anthropologie where the festiveness shows through in the darling little reindeer printed on it. Considering snagging it when it hits sale for next year’s holiday soirees…!

Of Wolves and Knits

I’m still a teensy bit obsessed with pretty much any and all clothes // accessories sporting animal motifs. And while none of these knits are obviously holiday-themed, they all just seem so appropriate for this time of year. Pair a warm animal-printed jumper with leggings, boots, and hot chocolate, and you’ve got yourself a perfect winter wonderland look.

And while we’re on the subject of cozy knits, can we talk about the never-ending selection of knitware from online retailer Warehouse? I want to curl up in these jumpers and cardigans and not come out until it has reached at least 60 degrees again. Crushing on these gold buttons, striped sleeves, and fairisle.

Animal Print

There’s a new kind of animal print in town! No longer all-over leopard and cheetah, but rather whimsical animal prints are adorning clothes and accessories this fall…

Twenty-First Century Fox

Is it just me, or is fox print everywhere this fall? Tory Burch is doing it best… I am lusting after more than one piece from that collection. Here are some of my other current foxy favorites…

Kitten + Cords

White button-down, H&M
Corduroy skirt, Gap
Pearls, J Crew
Leopard belt, Ann Taylor
Triple Link Bangle, BaubleBar
Leopard socks, Urban Outfitters
Mary-Janes, Lower East Side
Pouchette, Louis Vuitton

I kind of feel like a school girl playing dress-up with Mom’s animal print and fancy handbags in this outfit. Go figure, the belt does in fact belong to my mom. But the red corduroy is festive and the leopard print is fun– no denying that!

Mix + Match

I’ll be honest. Mixing prints terrifies me.

BUT I’m overcoming my fear by linking up with {long distance loving} for a Mix + Match Friday’s Fancies!

So maybe my polka dots + giraffe print isn’t too wild (or is it way too much?), but I’m new at this right? Plus throw in some very bright accessories from J Crew to bring out the colors in the dress and I’d say I’m really taking a chance here!

Belina Dress, Kate Spade, $375
Giraffe Print Scarf, Tolani, $99
Resin and Rondelle Necklace, J Crew, $39.50
Cashmere-Lined Leather Gloves, J Crew, $98
Mona Satin Pumps, J Crew, $198 (sale!)

A little leopard

Zippity shoe da, Zappos Tuesday….

I don’t think it’s any secret that leopard is one of the biggest trends to be sporting this fall, especially when it comes to footwear. Personally, I’m excited for it– no longer is leopard being seen as tacky (or is it still to you? I want to hear your thoughts!). But I am KICKING myself because I have been searching for weeks now for an old pair of leopard flats I had in high school and I’m finally admitting to myself I think I must have thrown them out years ago, never stopping to believe that animal print would actually come back in. Little did I know!

But alas, I’m now without them and instead have my eyes on these beauties now…

Think this is a style to stay or still too trendy? I say a little leopard isn’t so bad.
